Niacinamide

Vitamin B3

Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 and one of the most versatile ingredients in skincare. It supports the skin barrier, makes pores look smaller and evens out skin tone.

Niacinamide helps skin produce more of its own ceramides and other barrier lipids. This strengthens the barrier, so skin holds moisture better and becomes more resilient.

For oily and combination skin, niacinamide can help balance oil production and make pores look smaller. It can also tone down visible redness for a calmer complexion.

It reduces the transfer of pigment to the skin's surface. Over time this can give a more even tone and make dark spots less visible. It also has antioxidant properties.

How to use: Niacinamide can be used morning and evening and suits most skin types. It works well with other actives such as hyaluronic acid, retinol and acids. Moderate concentrations, often around 2 to 5 percent, are well tolerated by most people.

Good to know: Very high concentrations can cause temporary redness or a warm feeling in some people. If your skin is sensitive, start with a lower strength.
